Akihabara Nagomido manga cafe x Felissimo Cat Division Parlor collaboration cafe is open meow

A month-long specialty cafe offers dishes and products perfect for cat lovers in Japan’s capital.

Felissimo Cats Divisionthe “provider” of the best cat-themed and cat-friendly items on the market, is currently in partnership with Manga Cafe Akihabara Nagomido to offer a special collaboration menu and exclusive products from February 18th to March 20th. The appearance of the regular 24-hour manga cafe was heavily influenced by Taisho-era romanticism (1912-1926) in its design, and the collaboration cafe plays on that same theme with its anthropomorphic cat waitress mascot. Yoshino-chan, illustrated by artist Arisa Shimoda.

▼ Guests can sit at the common table or solo counter seats during their visit.

At the entrance, guests can even take a commemorative photo with Yoshino-chan to remember their visit.

▼ “Yoshino” is a common type of cherry tree, and the cafe is known for its “yaezakura coffee” – yaezakura being another type of cherry tree.

The limited-time collaboration menu consists of six dishes prepared with love that pay tribute to our feline friends.

Marlin Steak Cutlet Platter (1,200 yen / US$10.44)

This selection is ideal for hungry diners who want a well-balanced meal. Look closely and you’ll see the grated daikon in the upper right in the shape of a cat!

Cat footprint tiramisu (800 yen)

Oops, looks like someone with paws was stepping on the dessert. The plate used in this dish is also available for sale in the Merchandise Corner.

Mini Hide & Seek Cat Cream Parfaits (1,000 yen)

Adorable cats with ice cream scoop come out of the cream. You can choose from gray tabby (black sesame ice cream), orange tabby (caramel ice cream) or white cat (vanilla ice cream) variants.

Fish-watching cat sodas (700 yen)

When filled with liquid, these glasses give the appearance of an aquarium with a hypnotized feline watching the fish swim in the background. Each glass also has a dollop of fruit jelly in the bottom. You can choose from Morning Bright Soda (Muscat Grape Jelly), Sky Blue Soda (Pineapple Jelly), or Evening Bright Soda (Strawberry Jelly).

Cafe lattes with cat designs (700 yen)

What cat will you have? The delivery of each hot drink is random, but possibilities include Yoshino-chan, fairy tale-inspired cat illustrations, and real pet cats owned by cafe staff.

Anmitsu with Yoshino-chan marshmallow (800 yen)

Anmitsu is a Japanese-style candy made of agar jelly cubes served with red bean paste and fruit slices. The combination of the traditional candy and a marshmallow with the image of Yoshino-chan gives a perfect visual note.

In addition to menu items, the cafe also offers four featured original articles to celebrate the collaboration in its merchandise corner.

The first is the chocolate rusk (1,274 yen)which is packed in a nice box which you can then use as a pen holder.

The second is the sugared almonds (864 yen)which also comes in a nice reusable box.

The third is the cat sugar (1,188 yen)with a package containing five adorable calico cats shaped like sugar cubes.

Look closely and you’ll also see tiny sakura ornaments made from meringue on a few cats. Add a sugar cat to your coffee or tea for a sweet taste.

Fourth and last on the list are the Yoshino-chan Japanese Marshmallows (1,598 yen), which are made from frozen egg whites. Nine come in a paper box.
