The current owner is Laith Al-Mashni.

The store’s original owner was named Claudette, and the restaurant kept the name because it was so well-known, according to Munteanu.

Although Claudette herself has retired, she still occasionally visits the cafe to see how business is going.

Munteanu commented on how very supportive the restaurant’s customers were during this tough time for the business.

Customer traffic

Despite the pandemic, traffic is stable.

“We have our regulars who come every day, on certain days of the week, every month and every week,” Munteanu said. “We have certain groups that come from the senior center, to retired firefighters, and on the weekends we get quite a bit of criticism.

“We have the religious groups, the families, our regulars, etc.”

Munteanu said that during the week only two to three work, and on weekends there are five to six.

“At the moment we serve breakfast and lunch, we are open daily from 7am to 2pm and we also rent out our restaurant for private parties, such as Christmas parties, New Year’s parties, baby showers. showers, engagements,” she said. . “Whatever you want to do as a customer, we are here to help.

“We have a bar, we decorate, it depends on what the client wants.”

“I love this place, it’s like a second home and like a second family for me with employees and customers,” said Munteanu. “I worked here my whole pregnancy, so we’re like a little family.”

She said she makes it a priority for herself and the restaurant as a whole to serve the best they can to those who walk through their doors.
