Eusebi Café and Bakery, the new venture from the family team behind the original Deli and Restaurant location on Park Road, is due to open in June.

Located in the heart of this world-class research facility, and a stone’s throw from well-known West End attractions like Kelvingrove Park and Gallery, the new cafe and bakery will offer a ‘lighter’ version of food and drink much appreciated by Eusebi. offer.

Initially open to the public and the University community from Monday to Friday, it is hoped that later in the year Eusebi’s Café & Bakery will also extend its opening hours to evenings and weekends.

Guests can enjoy the full range of Eusebi’s own bakery, freshly prepared sandwiches and salads, Italian coffee with locally sourced organic Mossgiel milk and other cold and hot beverages. The venue will also offer other take-home bestsellers, such as many of Eusebi’s fresh pasta products, including “yesterday’s lasagna”, as well as vegetarian and vegan options.

Eusebi Deli was opened in Shettleston and has been an institution for over 40 years. A move to the West End had been planned for around seven years before the deli finally opened in 2016 on Park Road.

Beloved by celebrities – Nigella Lawson was introduced to Eusebi by Janey Godley during her tour last year – the restaurant has become a much-loved institution for its contemporary menu inspired by the family’s heritage.

Giovanna Eusebi, owner of Eusebi’s, said: “It is a pleasure and a privilege to announce the news of our new bakery-café at ARC – it is an amazing place, and we are so proud to play our own small role in world-changing food research.

“This partnership came very naturally to us, as many of our own values align directly with those of the University of Glasgow. Serving our community and sustainability is at the heart of everything we do and what we will strive to offer in this new place.

“Located not far from the sights of the West End and directly overlooking Kelvingrove Park, Eusebi Café and Bakery at the ARC will also be a place for customers to pop in and grab a coffee and light snack on the go.

“We look forward to welcoming old and new customers, researchers, scholars and more to our new location in May.”

Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, said: “We are delighted to partner with Eusebi’s in ARC. By implementing our Campus Development Programme, as we launch fantastic new facilities for teaching, research and engagement, the University of Glasgow is committed to creating spaces that benefit our local community. Working with great local businesses like Eusebi is a key priority for us, and I know our staff and students are looking forward to the new cafe opening.
