Lovely Lymington cafe, the perfect place for a coffee on the quay

This is the perfect place for a coffee on the quay.

Coffee & Drift in Lymington offers freshly baked brunches, Instagrammable cakes and excellent customer service, meaning regular visitors and their four-legged friends are known by name.

Created by Grace Murphy in the summer of 2018, the Quay Road property previously sold nautical wares and you can still see the original brass etched step at the front door.

Speaking on behalf of staff, Paitin Du Plooy told the Daily Echo: “With over a decade of experience running local businesses on the south coast, Grace took a leap of faith and opened her business dream in August 2018. It’s the busiest time of the year, so we were off to a flying start!

“We are known for our specialty coffee, freshly prepared brunches and cakes from highly rated local bakers.

“We have an innovative, ever-changing seasonal menu created by our staff, which not only focuses on quality, but also on Instagram!

“We also pride ourselves on good customer service, so if we see Mark coming downstairs with his Dinky Pug, that ‘Oat Extra Shot Cap’ should be ready by the time he walks in!”

The coffee’s Drift House Blend is one of a kind, a blend of 40% Colombian Excelso, 40% Brazilian Santos and 20% Ugandan Robusta produced by Smiths Of London Roasters.

Customers come back for the talented baristas who serve creamy art coffees, the views, the atmosphere, and the quality produce.

Inspired by the efforts of Manchester United and England footballer and campaigner Marcus Rashford, the Coffee & Drift team worked voluntarily during lockdown selling takeaway drinks and snacks so they could raise funds to create 90 hampers Christmas for families in need.

They also provided midday meals to 17 families a day during one of the mid-term breaks.

Daily Echo:

The menu includes hearty bowls, sourdough toast and biscoff shakes as well as artisan coffees.

The menu, both creative and simple, aims to “lull your taste buds”.

The pancake corner is particularly popular with customers young and old.

Overnight oats are all the rage at breakfast while Buddha bowls are among the delights on offer at lunchtime.
