Juan Barajas, owner of Woodland’s Savory Cafe, was featured in “Best of California” magazine for turning his passion for fresh produce into a career.

“In this area, you can’t turn around without running into food fields with a variety of different produce,” he told the magazine. “Our wish is to have a direct connection to the people who grow our food and to educate people about what we use in our kitchen.”

Barajas highlighted local restaurants and businesses, including Father Paddy’s, Main Street Lunge, Matthew Taylor’s Home and Zest Fresh, when asked about his favorite places to eat, drink and gamble in Yolo County.

In a Facebook post regarding the feature, Barajas thanked everyone for the support and said to “keep it real, keep it Yolo”.

Savory Cafe is located at 722 A Main St. in Woodland.
