A new cafe and takeaway market have opened downtown.
Ignite Entertainment, the team behind The View at Shires’ Garden – the rooftop dining and drinking destination of the city center’s City Club Apartments – hosted the grand opening of the Shires’ Cafe this weekend, located on the ground floor floor of the same building.
According to a statement, the cafe offers everything from homemade baked goods, cocktails and kombucha at the local Pneuma cafe, to take-out Che sandwiches and empanadas (Ignite also operates Che). The market portion includes snacks, drinks, and even t-shirts for purchase, as well as miscellaneous items – things like Tylenol and toothpaste.
A lounge area adjacent to the cafe allows customers to “enjoy selections at their own pace, work away from the office, or relax and have a drink,” according to a statement.
“We want to give the community something we’ve been missing in this part of downtown,” said Ignite Entertainment founder Juan Imeroni. “Not only will the Shires’ Cafe serve City Club residents and guests, but office workers who are back at their desks after the pandemic, and those spending time in our bustling urban core. We are delighted to see the city come alive and excited to be part of the action.
Shires’ Cafe is located at 309 Vine Street, downtown. It is currently open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, with plans to extend hours in the future. For more information and to see a full menu of offerings, visit shirescafe.com.
