In Oregon’s lovely Hood River sits an enchanting garden center that’s an alluring Beaver State oasis. Good News Gardening is a perfect garden center that has everything you need to start your own flower and vegetable gardens at home. But that’s not all – there’s a lovely little cafe at this Oregon garden center that serves up delicious brunches and lunches that are sure to inspire you for your own home gardening endeavors!
In Hood River, Oregon, Good News Gardening has been a locally run one-stop-shop for all things gardening for nearly 40 years.
The center is home to literally thousands of plants, from trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials to organic vegetable and herbaceous plants, soils, seeds, tools and even decorative garden items.
It’s the kind of place where, even if you have a dark hand or don’t think you want to take up gardening, you’ll walk away fully confident and ready to succeed in your home gardening. That’s the beauty of local shopping: the customer service is second to none.
And you know what else is incomparable? The cafe at this pretty little garden centre. That’s right: Good News Gardening has its own cafe on site!
When we say that this cafe is located in the garden center… we think so. You will dine surrounded by a ROYGBIV of beautiful flowers., which, if you ask us, looks really delicious.
The ROYGBIV theme also continues with the menu, which features freshly grown dishes from the bounty of the Hood River region (known colloquially as the Fruit Loop).
Mother Nature dictates the menu at the Good News Gardening Cafe, which showcases flavors and seasonal produce such as fresh leeks in this creamy, chilled summer bisque.
There are so many places to hang out and hang out that this lovely garden center is also a delightful day trip destination in itself, even without the cafe!
(Although we have to admit, the coffee takes this Hood River, Oregon garden center to a whole new level.)
